Carnival fever is set to take over in 2016 with the excitement of Rio looming. Sugar Show Productions will be revealing their latest stand out feature ‘The Cake Carnival’ – an explosion of party inspired artistry realised in sugarcraft and cake. Members from the London and Overseas Area of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS) are bringing floral excellence, new designs and inspiration to London Cake International for the first time. The competition area will showcase the incredible efforts of cake decorating artists from around the world with hotly contested classes covering floral sugarcraft, celebration, novelty and wedding cakes as well as cupcakes. Jaw-dropping creations will adorn the judging tables, demonstrating the artistic heights that can be reached with sugarcraft. Each entrant will be competing for coveted awards from the professional judges, led by Cake International’s Chairman of Judges, Brian Taylor.
Taking inspiration from the competition pieces, visitors can learn cake decoration techniques under the guidance of cake decorating and baking experts. There will be regular informal sessions on cake decorating techniques, while the Taste of Sugarcraft mini workshops are the perfect place to learn new or brush up on existing skills. Making and taster sessions will be available throughout the weekend and visitors are invited to roll up their sleeves and have a go. The Cake International and demonstration theatres will play host to informative tutorials from professionals in the industry giving attendees helpful advice and ideas for their baking and sugarcraft projects.
