The London Model Engineering Exhibition is regarded as one of THE Largest Model Engineering and Modelling Exhibitions in the UK. Now in its 19th Year it will return once again to Alexandra Palace, London from the 16th – 18th January 2015.

The 2015 event is tipped to be the best yet, packed with hundreds of displays to keep the whole family entertained for hours, from gas-turbine locomotives, collections of scale model ships, scale steam engines, remote control trucks, boats and aeroplanes plus futuristic rockets, robots and much much more!

The exhibition boasts over 50 national and regional clubs and societies showcasing over 15,000 examples of their members’ work, plus over 50 trade stands and specialist suppliers launching new products, show offers and advice.

Children (of all ages) will marvel at the moving Meccano displays, such as the Roller Coaster which pulls a car up to the top of the lift and then descends through gravity around three circuits, and goes very fast! TV show ‘Robot Wars’ makes a welcome return with Major Damage and Matilda robots battling it out in both friendly and tournament matches during the weekend.

Our friends at ‘The Imagineering Foundation’ will be carrying out fun, hands on and inter-active activities on site throughout the show to inspire children into the exciting world of engineering, science, and technology. Whilst The Brickish Association whose members create, build and display LEGO will be on hand with heaps of information, hints and tips for the budding LEGO builder and a LEGO build table for children to participate.

Other attractions include an extraordinary matchstick display of historical ships such as HMS Victory; narrow gauge trains that run on actual steam and Polly Engineering who will be running a portable track, and providing free rides for visitors at the show. There will also be aerial displays by the British Model Flying Association and a special World War I display of tanks, tri-planes, Fokkers and associated military figurines, armory and battle machines by The IMPS Barnet Model Club. Hoping to set a new Guinness World Record will be the members of Tamiya Trucking Group who will attempt to get into the history books with the longest moving convoy of radio controlled vehicles.

With so much to see and do under one roof, The London Model Engineering Exhibition is a great day out for all the family whatever the weather!
