AS STRATEGIC SPATIAL MASTERPLANNERS FOR REGENERATION OF ALEXANDRA PALACE
Alexandra Palace has appointed Terry Farrell & Partners, the internationally recognised architects and urban designers, to undertake strategic spatial masterplanning work for the regeneration of the historic Grade II-listed destination and entertainment venue in North London.
The complex regeneration of Alexandra Palace began last year. It will see the much loved Palace, which has been entertaining people for nearly 140 years, repaired and restored to ensure a sustainable future as a live music, sports and events destination, building on its rich heritage.
Earlier this year, Alexandra Palace was awarded over £320,000 in funding by English Heritage so that it could make much needed repairs to the Palace and appoint conservation architects.
Now, following a competitive tender process, Terry Farrell & Partners – working with WSP – have been selected by Alexandra Palace to suggest design options for the possible future use of the Palace. The design options will be displayed during a public consultation on the regeneration of Alexandra Palace, starting in May.
Duncan Wilson, Chief Executive, Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust, said: “We are delighted to be working with Terry Farrell & Partners and look forward to them interpreting our vision for Alexandra Palace by creating imaginative and practical design concepts for this historic place.”
The award-winning Terry Farrell & Partners are internationally renowned for their expertise in architecture, urban design, regeneration and planning.
