Do you have what it takes to win The Great British Sewing Bee?
Talent reps from the popular BBC sewing contest will be at The Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace from the 7th-11th October in search of new contestants for the next series.
Fans of The Great British Sewing Bee will also have the opportunity to meet the stars of the TV show including this year’s winner Matt Chapple and runner-up Stuart Hillard.
Matt Chapple will be giving an in-depth talk on Saturday 10th October about his sewing career and what he’s been doing since winning the series back in March and Stuart will be presenting daily Fashion Shows in association with Coats Crafts.
For those who prefer to perfect their dress-making techniques away from the cameras, there is a brand new Dress making Studio at the show, sponsored by the McCall Pattern Company and SEW TODAY. Visitors can learn how to make perfect pockets, master the art of zip insertions and find the secret to adjusting patterns to suit different shapes and sizes.
Jonathan Burton portfolio director of The Knitting & Stitching Show says:
‘The Great British Sewing Bee has reignited a passion for sewing and dressmaking which has inspired a lot of the content for this year’s Knitting & Stitching Show. In addition to the Dressmaking Studio offering daily workshops, we also celebrate the Walkaway dress featured on the TV show in a special event on Wednesday 7th October.
We’re expecting 35,000 visitors to join us across the five days of the show, so teaming up with The Great British Sewing Bee to find the next star of the sewing contest seemed like the perfect fit.’
