Ally Pally voted a top 10 live music venue.

Time Out asked their readers which is the best place to see gigs in London. Whether for pure rock and roll,  cool place jazz vibes, or a classical experience.  And they replied, in their thousands via Facebook.

Then the Time Out music team came up with a 25-venue shortlist ranging from the great and grandly designed to the small and intimate yet interesting. After the final vote, it was a very closely run contest with a great deal of anticipation about the results.

And we took time out to celebrate when it was announced that, amongst some very illustrious company, your Ally Pally had been voted into the top 10.  Not just for our fabulous setting and structure – but with particular reference to our sound quality too.

“This landmark hilltop venue (with some of London’s best views). It’s almost as if the Masonic sculptures and frescoes that adorn its interior were somehow tempting a supernatural higher power. Bar and toilet provision for some of the big shows remains patchy thanks to the layout, but the soundsystem is beloved of audiophiles – the Pixies chose it for the first London shows of their re-formation, and James Murphy for the last UK appearances for LCD Soundsystem.”

Lucy Fenner- Head of client sales says
“Given our music heritage which goes as far back to Led Zeppelin, includes Blur’s Park life, right up to Florence and the Machine. It’s great to see music fans voting for Ally Pally today as we are working hard to re-establish the People’s Palace as one of  London’s music venues for memorable gigs.”
