BAFTA Big Schools Day

18 Jun 2019

Our Creative Learning Team work with over 3500 pupils from local schools per year. BAFTA Big School Day is our biggest event inviting 1000 pupils to the Palace for a day of activities exploring the creative and media industries.

BAFTA Kids are returning on 18 June to examine themes of creation, invention and adaptation for screen. Starting at 10am and finishing by 2.30pm, the day will be broken down into themed sections. Additional host and guest names will be announced over the following weeks but we are delighted to confirm we will be joined by Nigel Clarke and Lauren Layfield. Nigel is currently hosting CBeebies Baby Club and has worked across CBBC, Disney, Nickelodeon and was a senior cast member in the stage show Stomp. Lauren presents on CBBC and Capitol Radio with shows including Dengineers and The Play List. School of Noise will host an interactive section exploring noise, sound and music and its use on screen. A competition will be run in advance of the event inviting students to draw and write about their favourite adaptation from book to screen (film, game or television show). Prizes will be given at a grand finale on the day. Photo opportunities available for all schools with hosts and guest speakers. Email Isobel.aptaker@alexandrapalace.com to find out more or to book
