It’s official, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and Alexandra Palace have agreed a new deal that keeps one of sport’s most iconic events at its legendary home until at least 2031. Yes, the festive pilgrimage to Ally Pally is here to stay.
And that’s not all. From 2026, the World Darts Championship will move from the West Hall into the Palace’s Great Hall, to welcome a massive 180,000 fans across the three-week tournament.
Individual sessions will be more than 5,000 fans, meaning even more fancy dress, and more atmosphere than ever before.

Since 2007, Ally Pally has transformed into a global darts destination. It’s a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, and now it’s about to get even bigger.
PDC Chief Executive, Matt Porter says:
“Alexandra Palace has become synonymous with the World Darts Championship, and we are thrilled to extend our partnership through to at least 2031. Ally Pally at Christmas is the identity of the tournament and it produces an incredible atmosphere that makes it one of the most iconic sports events in the world.”
Alexandra Palace Commercial Director, Lucy Fenner says:
“We’re honoured to have been home to the Worlds since 2007 and proud to extend our partnership with the PDC. Christmas isn’t complete without the presents, the turkey and the tradition of making the annual pilgrimage to the darts at Ally Pally.”
Alexandra Palace Chief Executive, Emma Dagnes OBE adds:
“Events like the darts have a seismic impact for us as a charity. They create experiences of a lifetime and help support our work caring for the Park and Palace and delivering cultural and learning programmes for millions every year.”
In addition, the Matchroom Charitable Foundation has extended its support for Alexandra Palace’s Creative Learning programme, providing £300,000 across three years to help deliver projects for more than 10,000 people annually, from arts sessions for people living with dementia to outdoor learning for schools and training for young creatives.
This year’s Championship takes place from 11 December 2025 to 3 January 2026.
