The North London Book Fest returns to Alexandra Palace for its second year, from Thursday 23 – Sunday 26 April 2026, bringing a packed four-day programme of author readings, Q&As, performances, signings, workshops and activities for all ages to enjoy.
After a strong debut in 2024, the North London Book Fest features some of the most exciting voices in literature.
This year’s guests include Alan Hollinghurst, Tessa Hadley, Natalie Haynes, Michael Rosen, Ben Aaronovitch, Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason, Jeffrey Boakye, Laura Bates, Natasha Brown and Rachel Parris, alongside many others across fiction, non-fiction, poetry, performance and children’s books too.
Across the Alexandra Palace Theatre, Creativity Pavilion and Transmitter Hall, the Palace will come alive with readings and discussions on topics from identity, history and social change to mythology, creativity and the joy of storytelling. For younger audiences, the weekend offers hands-on workshops and interactive sessions led by much-loved children’s authors and performers.
Festival highlights include BBC Radio 4 broadcaster Jeffrey Boakye launching the festival with a dynamic journey through the music that shapes modern culture. Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason sharing her new book – To Be Young, Gifted and Black – accompanied by live performances from Braimah and Konya Kanneh-Mason.
Local literary legend Michael Rosen will be celebrating his 80th birthday with classic readings. Acclaimed comedian, actress, musician and author, Rachel Parris exploring her new Austen-inspired novel, Introducing Mrs Collins. Broadcaster and classicist, Natalie Haynes will be bringing her mythologist musings to life on the Alexandra Palace Theatre stage.
Author and celebrated science fiction screenwriter, Ben Aaronovitch discussing the latest Rivers of London instalment; plus, so much more, including a full schedule of family favourites with Onjali Q. Raúf, Simon Mole and Kate Pankhurst.
With its rich programme and sessions for all ages, the festival village will be buzzing with spoken word, emerging musicians, comedy, drop-in workshops and plenty to explore between events.
