Join acclaimed author Natasha Brown as she discusses Universality – a bold, state-of-the-nation novel exploring media, class, and truth.

Natasha was named one of Granta’s Best of Young British Novelists in 2023, following the success of her debut, Assembly. Praised for its minimalist, precise prose and described as ‘diamond-sharp’ and ‘timely’, Assembly examines race, class, and identity through the perspective of a Black British woman navigating the financial world.

Her latest work, Universality, longlisted for the Booker Prize 2025, has been hailed as ‘a sharp, clever take on contemporary culture’ and ‘a brilliant social x-ray of modern Britain.’ Universality frequently interrogates language and narrative expectations, blending social critique with literary innovation.

Natasha is in conversation with Nell Frizzell – a writer and Vogue columnist whose work spans gender, culture, and politics. She has written for The Guardian, VICE, The Telegraph, and more.

This event is for readers who love bold, thought-provoking fiction and anyone interested in contemporary Britain’s cultural and social landscape
