Car Parking Charges – project update

In 2019, we announced the intention to introduce parking charges in our car parks, with Alexandra Palace being one of the only destinations of its type and scale in Greater London not charging for parking. The charges will help us to cover the costs of operating the car parks and support our charity’s work to repair, restore and maintain the Park and Palace, for the benefit of everyone.

Following extensive planning and consultation, we are now ready to install the infrastructure that will enable us to charge for parking. This work – which includes installing pay terminals, ANPR cameras and signage – will take place throughout June and July 2023, with the charges set to be in place this summer. We will provide a specific date as installation works progress.

We want our charging system to be as fair as possible. The first 30 minutes of parking will be free for all, for example, and we have ensured our tariffs are consistent with similar destinations across London. Blue Badge holders will park for free.

We encourage you to find out more about car parking charges via our FAQ page, which provides more context on why we are pursuing this project and how it will work for the variety of visitors to Alexandra Palace. We are determined to get the system right from the start, however we also remain ready to adapt it, if required, once it is in place.

We will keep you up to date with ongoing developments via our dedicated webpage. If you have any questions please contact us via parking@alexandrapalace.com

We thank you in advance for your patience as we complete our preparations for the new system and hope you have the opportunity to enjoy the summer at the Park and Palace.
