Biblio-buzz 2023: And the winner is…

Friday, 24 March saw the finale of Biblio-Buzz 2023, the Alexandra Palace Children’s Book Awards!

Over 700 young people from schools across Haringey made their way to the Palace’s beautiful Theatre, to meet our shortlisted authors and see who they collectively voted as the 2023 award winner!

Biblio-buzz challenges the young people, aged 9-12, to read six selected texts, complete challenges and take part in workshops, before voting for their favourite book. The Award is a pillar of our Creative Learning programme, which uses the arts to help people across our community to get creative, develop new skills and even develop career opportunities. Like so many of our projects, we run it in partnership with professionals in the creative industries, which in the case of Biblio-buzz, sees us work with Haringey Library Service, librarians, schools, professional authors, publishers and local books shops

Here is an overview of what went down at the Awards…

The Palace’s East Court was packed out as the young people got to meet the authors
