Flesh and Pixels Exhibition Private View

21 NOV - 4 DEC

Creativity Pavilion

Curated by Niah McGiff

FLESH & PIXEL brings together a group of emerging artists whose work questions what it means to exist between the physical and digital world. The exhibition explores how our sense of self and belonging shifts in a society that consumes and discards images at high speed.

Online, absurd AI creations and internet humour sit beside disastrous headlines and serious news articles. The nihilistic and chaotic nature of this content that we are constantly consuming is a reflection of our collective consciousness and society as a whole and this exhibition invites the artists and viewers to reflect on how this is affecting our daily lives. The way in which some of the pieces comment on these themes may be abstract and unexpected, we look forward to the conversations that may occur about the art and between the works.

There will be a short showing from a documentary about farming and culture in India (Oscar B Ezer & Reuben P Haynes) as well as a music performance by London musician Jiovani.jemndi.
