Alexandra Park has been awarded a prestigious Green Flag Award for the 19th consecutive year, recognising it once again as one of the country’s best managed parks and green spaces.
The Green Flag Award is the international quality mark for parks and green spaces, and this year marks its 30th anniversary. Alexandra Park is one of a record-breaking 2,391 parks and green spaces across the UK to receive the award, reflecting the dedication, expertise and care that goes into maintaining the Park for everyone to enjoy.

196 acres of parkland for everyone to enjoy
Alexandra Park spans 196 acres of historic parkland. From the iconic Alexandra Palace to its panoramic views across London’s skyline, it is one of the capital’s most distinctive green spaces, where historic landscapes, thriving wildlife and community come together. Home to more than 7,500 trees and 694 recorded species of plants, animals and fungi, alongside 212 species of insects and bats, the Park provides an important haven for wildlife while offering space for recreation, exercise and relaxation. Welcoming more than four million visits each year, it offers everything from woodland walks to playground facilities and one of London’s most spectacular viewpoints.

Caring for Alexandra Park
The Park is supported by the dedication of the Friends of Alexandra Park, a volunteer group who contribute thousands of hours each year through conservation projects, community events and ecological monitoring, alongside the expertise of the Trust’s grounds maintenance partner John O’Conner, who plays a vital role in caring for the Park’s landscapes, woodlands and heritage features throughout the year.
Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust generates income from events, fundraising and charitable support to help maintain the Grade II listed Palace and Park, ensuring these much-loved spaces remain open, accessible and protected for future generations.
