Biodiversity Training and Community Science Audit

8 Apr 2026

Meeting point: outside Creativity Pavilion

We invite you to a biodiversity workshop and community science audit, by taking part in this you will:

  • Find out how you can discover what kind of wildlife already exists in the Wild in the Park Outdoor Learning Area.
  • Find out what the best ways are to encourage species not already present that we need in our borough.

The results of the audit you carry out will inform what biodiversity enhancements are selected for the new Herb Garden.

The morning part of the session will include:

  • An overview of what Biodiversity is, and why we want to support it
  • What biodiversity to look out for in Alexandra Park
  • How to audit
  • How to ID species

The afternoon part of the session will take place in the Outdoor Learning Area, where the Herb Garden will be located. You will carry out a biodiversity audit of the area which will inform and aid the decision making process on which biodiversity enhancements will be chosen for the area.

Please come wearing weather-appropriate clothes that you don’t mind working outside in.  Bring a packed lunch and water bottle. No knowledge required, all welcome.

Meeting point: Creativity Pavilion, which is located in the East Court at Alexandra Palace

Online follow up meeting
