Patti Smith headlines a new boutique festival on the slopes of Alexandra Palace.

Higher Ground is a one-day festival with an artistic scope including singer-songwriters, genre defying acts and contemporary sounds.

In addition to powerful live sets from leading international names, the event will feature DJ sets, workshops, talks and readings, food trucks, bars, and activity areas.

    PATTI SMITH
Nothing short of legendary, Patti Smith ranks amongst the most ambitious, unconventional, and challenging rock and rollers of all time. Emerging in the 70’s, Patti’s music has firmly held on to its timelessness as she continues to tour and enchant audiences worldwide.

    NADINE SHAH
Nadine Shah’s critically acclaimed, and Mercury-nominated, album ‘Holiday Destination’ saw her at her most political yet, now in her 30s Shah continues to speak out for causes she believes strongly in in her brooding and jazz-kissed indie rock.

    SPELLLING
SPELLLING’s familiar bewitching vocal style emphasizes the theatrical and folkloric themes of her song writing. Her 2021 album Turning Wheel is nothing short of evolution for the artist, branching out from her primarily synth-based sound on a magical, grand and genre-less adventure.

    CONNIE CONSTANCE
A refreshingly frank storyteller with an up-to-date indie-rock sound, Connie Constance makes music that accurately reflects herself, and defies simple classification.

    NABIHAH IQBAL
Praised highly for her debut release, NTS presenter Nabihah fuses electronic soundscapes with reverb drenched vocals to create a unique and spellbinding take on indie music.

    ROSIE LOWE
Little Simz, Hot Chip, Duval Timothy collaborator and one of 6Music’s most played artists, Rosie Lowe will be creating a special DJ set of soundscapes and music that inspires her.

    ROSIE FRATER-TAYLOR

The singer, songwriter and guitarist blurs the lines between jazz, folk, pop and soul. Think Joni Mitchell meets Pat Metheny, Lewis Taylor teams up with Emily King.
Rising through the ranks of Tomorrow’s Warriors, NYJO, the Royal Academy of Music and workshops at the Roundhouse, she eventually become her self-produced debut album ‘On My Mind’ which garnered praise from BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson “genuinely exceptional”, BBC Radio 1’s Abbie McCarthy “complex, jazzy, smooth, delicate”, songstress Becca Stevens “badass”, with Jazzwise Magazine declaring her “one to watch”.

    DONNA LEAKE
The London selector plays jazz, psych rock and assorted oddities as a staple of NTS, Brilliant Corners, and Resident Advisor sounds, jumping between different countries, decades, and tempos – seeking the magic in music to cultivate a vibe with jazzy cuts and smoked-out guitar jams.

    MIDORI JAEGER
Cellist, and singer-songwriter whose music confronts difference, Midori fuels her music not just with a distinct sonic identity but a message tackling what it means to be a young woman of her heritage, making art.

    MARYSIA OSU
Harpist Marysia Osu (of Levitation Orchestra) will bring the sonic waves for our Jazz Yoga sessions, perfectly complementing the flow and practice by building original ambient soundscapes combining harp and beats. Join the yoga sessions or come for a chill-out break.

World-class DJs will keep the party flowing, as well as indoor workshops, to be announced next month, all accompanied by fully stocked bars and delicious food trucks.
