Macbeth: What Lies Beneath

1 Mar 2024

East Court

Duration: 1 hour

Commemorating Alexandra Palace’s 150th, Macbeth: What Lies Beneath opens our historic basements to the public for two special promenade performances within the depths of the Palace.

Alexandra Palace’s Young Actors Company takes you on a creepy performance tour of the basements, lit by candles and torches, for an evocative, condensed and remastered reboot of ‘The Scottish Play’. Told by an ensemble cast, this universal tale of greed, power, belief and the human condition is sure to chill and delight in equal measure.

Come join us on a spooky adventure into our dark basement and discover what lies beneath!

Pay What You Can:

Ally Pally aims to make our community events more accessible therefore for this production of Macbeth: What Lies Beneath performed and created by our talented Young Actor’s Company, you can choose to pay a price that works for you. We have included a recommended price per ticket £10 (plus booking fee) or there is a range of alternative prices available if that better suits your budget. Ticket sales help to cover the cost of this production and support our activities with artists, young people and local community.

Please note:

The Basements is a derelict space within Alexandra Palace and we are exploring ways in which we can develop it further. However, due to the current untreated nature of the performance environment of this event, the terrain is not deemed appropriate for wheelchair users. Furthermore, as the performance itself is a promenade, it is unsuitable for audiences that are unable to stand for long periods. If you require any further information regarding this event or accessibility, please contact our Visitor Services team on visitor.services@alexandrapalace.com.
