TUNA by Airlock Theatre

21 - 22 Oct 2021

TUNA is a play by Rosanna Suppa about the unsexy side of growing up around guns, ridiculous ideas of social mobility, and female criminality. Spurred on by the promise of higher education, one girl monologues her way through rehabilitation groups for young offenders and tries not to become a product of her upbringing. Which should be easy, because you get really bored of shotguns if you played with them as a kid.

Darkly comic, this is a fresh, dynamic, hilarious one-woman play which blazes with energy from Suppa’s writing and performance. During the host of eccentric characters and quick snapshots of various aspects of our protagonist’s life, we realise that she may not be the reliable narrator that we expected. With an ending that will leave you reeling, this has all the ingredients of a fantastic one-person show.

“An absolute gem of a play, catch it if you can” British Theatre ****

“I really really liked TUNA at Vaults, a refreshingly hilarious working class story painting a rich and optimism portrait of youth criminality. Rosanna Suppa was a catherine wheel of fizz and funny” James Graham

“Airlock Theatre are fast forging a reputation for theatrical excellence, and with Tuna they continue to hold their bar high. It’s a treasure of a play, delivered by a host of emerging talents” Plays The Thing
