  • Event Overview
    • The Knitting & Stitching Show

The Knitting & Stitching Show is the largest and most highly regarded textiles and craft event in the UK and it’s your opportunity to share your love of textiles with others.

Whether you’re into beadwork, crochet, cross stitch, embroidery or knitting, an experienced crafter or beginner, it is the perfect place to find inspiration, learn new skills and shop for all your essential craft supplies.

We have superb galleries from some of the UK’s most well-known textile groups and artists including the late Renate Keeping, Caren Garfen, Prism and EAST while Black Sheep present The Darker Side of Felt.

For 2014 we have a new Lecture Programme and the Skills Sharing Area – giving you the chance to listen and learn from the experts.  Our Learning Curve Workshop programme and the Prima ‘Make & Take theatre’ return offering over 150 hands-on practical classes.

At Alexandra Palace you’ll find nearly 400 companies selling everything from yarn to fabrics, ribbons to sewing machines, beads and threads.   Whatever your craft passion, this is the show for you – you’ll be in haberdashery heaven at The Knitting and Stitching Show.

Situated between Muswell Hill & Wood Green, Alexandra Palace is well served by all forms of public transport and is easy to reach by underground, road, rail & air. There is free parking at Alexandra Palace on a first come first served basis. However the car parks do get very full quickly so we strongly recommend you visit the show by public transport.

      BY TUBE

Wood Green is the nearest underground station on the Piccadilly Line. Exit Wood Green Station turn left, cross the road and to bus stop F to pick up the W3 bus up the hill to Alexandra Palace.

      BY RAIL

Alexandra Palace has its own British Rail Station, fittingly called Alexandra Palace Station. It is located at the Wood Green entrance to the Park. A regular train service runs direct from Moorgate or from Kings Cross, changing at Finsbury Park.

      BY BUS

Take the W3 bus from outside the station to the main Palm Court entrance. Some shows offer a free shuttle bus service from both Wood Green and Alexandra Palace stations check on the page of your event to find out more.

      BY AIR

From Heathrow Airport, take the Piccadilly Line directly to Wood Green Station.

From Gatwick Airport an express takes you direct to Victoria Station, then take the Piccadilly Line direct to Wood Green Station.

      Disabled parking

Due to new regulations imposed by the local council, it is no longer possible for blue badge holders to park at the front of the building. Instead, they are asked to park at the back of the venue, but we will have a small buggy to transport visitors to the entrance. (Please note this vehicle only takes a few passengers at a time and may mean a short wait. The alternative is a 'flat' 8 minute walk to the entrance).

      Getting home

Please note that the last tube from Wood Green Station leaves around midnight and the last train from Alexandra Palace Station leaves around Midnight. It is worth checking the last train times for your event date at

We recommend GLH to book your taxi to and from the Palace click here GLH offers a reliable, professional and timely service.
