Ally Pally Young Creatives Network

The Alexandra Palace Young Creatives Network offers the opportunity for people aged 16 to 24 to participate in a range of cultural projects that take inspiration from the exhilarating events programme at the Palace.

Whether programming their own projects, or attending workshops from trail-blazing artists, it is all aimed at helping participants to develop their experience and expertise in the creative industries.

Members of the Network also get the opportunity to get up close to the live events taking place at the Palace, such as gigs, theatre and comedy performances, as well as the opportunity to speak to the professionals involved at all stages of producing these events.

This month saw a number of the team head to the filming of the amazing Later…with Jools Holland, which took place in the Alexandra Palace Theatre. We asked the group to reflect on why they’ve joined the Creative Network…

“I try to be as creative as possible; I try to write a lot. I’m very grateful to be with this company because we do a lot, and to be at a venue like this is such a good opportunity.” – Sarah, 24, YCN Member

“I studied song-writing and graduated music uni in 2020, which was a very chaotic time to graduate! Since then, I’ve been concentrating on my music, performing, touring, and just trying to get all the opportunities on my side. I’ve only just joined the Young Creatives Network and it’s nice to be able to network with other creatives and get free tickets to things like Jools Holland.”Thea, 24, YCN Member

“It’s great to network with people and go to the workshops. There are lots of different creative people here – like dancers, writers, actors, musicians, etc. It’s so diverse! Everyone supports each other everywhere; we go to each other’s shows. It’s really become a community.”Alice, 23, YCN Member

Upcoming Young Creatives Network workshops include:

  • Podcasting workshops with the BBC at Alexandra Palace
  • Event management workshops in Wood Green Library
  • Transforming Places: Spoken Word, Rap and Creative Writing Workshops in various Haringey libraries
