5 years of London’s ‘oldest new Theatre’

#OTD in 2018 the Palace’s Theatre and East Court reopened!

Our award-winning East Wing Restoration Project began in 2013 and was made possible by major grants from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Haringey Council, supported by charitable trusts, businesses and thousands of your donations.

Since opening, millions of people have enjoyed and benefitted from these public spaces, which have hosted Madonna, Stormzy, Ed Sheeran and the Earthshot Prize – to name just a few – as well as comedy, drama and tv filming, including becoming home to the BBC’s legendary Later…with Jools Holland.

The restoration also acted as a catalyst for our Creative Learning programme, which now works with thousands of people each year, including local school pupils, older people, disabled people and young carers. Our Young Actors Company and Performing Arts School have launched, and the programme continues to provide a pathway into the creative industries through our Young Creatives Network.

Thank you to everyone who has visited, donated, volunteered, performed or worked in these restored spaces so far.

Enjoy these photos from our amazing restoration story.

And just a few from some of the events we’ve hosted so far…
