Ally Pally Young Actors Company: Spring Awakening

April saw the Alexandra Palace Young Actors Company present their second ever production, with three performances inspired by the classic play Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind taking place in our beautiful Theatre.

Below are some reflections from a staggeringly brilliant team, beginning with Company Director, Jolley Gosnold: “We brought this group of actors together for the first time about a year ago. Since then, they have performed an original play in Alexandra Palace Theatre, trained with industry experts and performed a showcase of scenes from contemporary plays.

“For Spring Awakening we started rehearsing in February. On Tuesday evenings we crafted an exciting, theatrically thrilling, fun and emotionally powerful production that ultimately filled the Theatre and wowed audiences.

“It has been such a pleasure getting to know and work with this talented Company over the past year, and I can’t thank them enough for their consistent dedication, vulnerability and sense of play throughout the entire process.”

The Young Actors Company is designed for 18-24 year olds. It is part of our Creative Learning programme and offers participants the chance to work closely with fellow actors, established professionals and get a close-up look at the productions appearing in the Palace’s award-winning Victorian Theatre.

In June we will start working towards our next production to be performed in summer 2023. If you are aged 18-24 and would like to join the Company, auditions are being held at the end of May. To apply, please complete this form HERE! Deadline is 19 May 5pm.
