The Haringey Greyhounds have secured the Women’s National Ice Hockey League Division 2 title for the second consecutive season.
The win confirms an extraordinary back-to-back championship run for the Greyhounds, who lift the league title once again after an outstanding 2025/26 campaign.
As league champions, the team will now be promoted to Division 1 ahead of the 2026/27 season, beginning this September. Founded in 2024, the Haringey Greyhounds are Alexandra Palace’s first-ever women’s ice hockey team. In just two seasons, the club has established itself as one of the fastest-rising teams in the women’s game. After winning both league and cup titles in their debut season, the Greyhounds have continued their rapid rise, securing promotion to Division 1 in just their second year.
The team’s success reflects not only their talent on the ice, but also the growing momentum behind women’s sport and women’s ice hockey in the borough and across London.
Across the season, attendance at Alexandra Palace Ice Rink home games has grown significantly, highlighting the growing appetite for women’s ice hockey and the strong community forming around the Greyhounds in North London.
The club is inspiring more women and girls to take up ice hockey both recreationally and competitively, and the Greyhounds are committed to helping make the sport more accessible to women and girls from all backgrounds across Haringey and beyond.
The team is led by Alexandra Palace Ice Rink General Manager Kirsty Bard, alongside Team Manager Olga Glazer, Haringey Huskies General Manager, Lee Mercer and Captain Hannah Dolan Davies.
“I’m incredibly proud of this team and everything they’ve achieved,” says Kirsty Bard. “So much heart, hard work and dedication goes into this sport, showing up week after week, putting in the hours at training, and constantly pushing each other forward. To earn promotion to Division 1 in only our second season is an amazing achievement. What has been especially exciting is seeing support for the team grow week on week. It shows the transformation happening in women’s ice hockey and the momentum building around the game. From the fans in the stands, to families and friends supporting the players, the incredible coaches and Alexandra Palace Ice Rink staff behind the scenes, and all our volunteers, everyone has played a part in this league win and promotion.”
The 2026/27 season begins in September 2026.
