The Streets

16 Nov 2023

The Streets‘ first full-length album since 2011, accompanied by Mike Skinner‘s debut feature film, The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light, is coming on 20 October, followed by a headline UK tour which will culminate at Alexandra Palace on 16 November.

The Streets burst onto the scene in 2002 with their Mercury Prize-nominated album Original Pirate Material, which is still considered one of the most influential British albums in recent memory. Over the ensuing years, they have released lauded albums and performed acclaimed live performances, collaborating along the way with a who’s who of British music – from Kano to Fred Again, Greentea Peng, and Giggs.

Whether he’s delivering a live-streamed lockdown performance or spinning a garage and bassline DJ set, Skinner’s presence is undeniable, infused with quintessentially British humor. When The Streets announced their comeback tour in 2017, tickets sold out within minutes, a testament to the enduring impact they have had on multiple generations of musicians and fans alike.
